Your diverse range of tasks
Together with your team, you will develop modern AI solutions for our customers – from the initial requirement and cloud architecture to productive deployment. Your focus is on Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and agent-based applications. In doing so, you combine technical architectural understanding with practical software development and implement solutions primarily on AWS, but also on Azure.
- Understanding requirements and designing solutions: Together with our customers and departments, you analyze requirements, identify suitable AI use cases, and translate them into concrete technical solution concepts. You evaluate feasibility, select appropriate technologies, and develop scalable, secure, and economical cloud architectures.
- Developing and integrating AI solutions: You develop AI applications based on modern foundation models and cloud services such as Amazon Bedrock. You utilize, among other things, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, and tool calling. You integrate AI functionalities via APIs and interfaces into existing enterprise systems and ensure that required data is provided securely and reliably. For more complex data requirements, you work closely with our data engineering specialists.
- Living cloud engineering and DevOps: You implement your architecture concepts in code yourself. Using Python, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices, you develop automated, reproducible, and maintainable solutions. From the start, you consider requirements for security, performance, monitoring, scalability, and costs.
- Taking responsibility: You assume technical responsibility for smaller projects or sub-projects and accompany AI solutions from conception to productive operation. You make sound architectural and technology decisions, question existing approaches, and support less experienced team members as a technical sparring partner.
- Communication is the measure of all things: You are always in intensive exchange with: the departments and architects for project-related coordination; your customers, to make architectural decisions transparent and ensure expectation management; your project team, to ensure technical excellence and project success; the Woodmark team, to share knowledge about AI architectures, cloud patterns, and best practices.

What you bring to the table
- Project experience: You have at least 3 years of practical experience in software development or cloud engineering and ideally have already conceived and implemented AI applications in customer projects. You understand the interplay of applications, data, cloud infrastructure, and AI services and can independently develop technical solutions from them.
- Expertise is a given: You possess: Very good knowledge of Python and experience in developing professional software applications; sound practical experience with AWS and the design and implementation of cloud architectures; experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models, and the integration of foundation models into applications, ideally with Amazon Bedrock; knowledge of modern AI architectures and technologies such as RAG, vector databases, AI agents, and tool calling; experience with infrastructure as code, for example Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation; good knowledge of modern software engineering and DevOps practices, especially Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment; experience with the development and integration of APIs as well as connecting different data sources and enterprise systems; understanding of security, IAM, monitoring, performance, scalability, and cost optimization in cloud environments; ideally additional experience with Azure, container technologies, or AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or comparable solutions.
- Architectural understanding and hands-on mentality: You can translate business requirements into technical architectures and are simultaneously able to implement them yourself. You think in terms of overall solutions, understand technical dependencies, and value maintainable, secure, and production-ready software.
- Intrinsic interest in AI innovations: You actively follow developments around Generative AI and Agentic AI, try out new technologies, and can assess which approaches offer added value in real customer projects.
- Stakeholder-oriented thinking moves us forward: You enjoy working with customers, departments, and technical contacts. You can record requirements in a structured manner, consider different perspectives, and communicate complex technical issues in an understandable way.
- Support the Making-of-a-Star: You actively support other Woodmarkers in building AI and cloud competencies and share your experience and knowledge within the team.
- Fluent German and English skills: You are comfortable in German-speaking projects and can also present technical documentation and architecture concepts in an understandable way in English.
