Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for research and development of machine learning technologies, with a specific focus on Self-Supervised Learning (SSL), in the context of health and well-being, applied to wearable devices and the entire Samsung ecosystem. The specialist will work on creating frameworks and models that enable efficient learning of representations from unlabeled data, contributing to the advancement of innovative artificial intelligence solutions.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in SRBR's Artificial Intelligence (AI) R&D projects, which aim to produce innovative technology to equip Samsung devices and enable new services;
- Develop and optimize SSL frameworks to extract representations from unlabeled data, applicable to time series, as well as tabular data.
- Define and execute SSL experiments, evaluating performance metrics and comparing results with supervised and semi-supervised approaches. -
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (STEM, biological sciences, and medical sciences) to integrate SSL solutions into AI projects. -
- Contribute to the formulation of the team's strategy, proposing innovative projects; -
- Monitor and report project progress, ensuring the delivery of results aligned with technical and commercial objectives. -
- Mentorship and technical development of peers, sharing advanced knowledge in SSL and machine learning.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields;
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent industry experience.
- Industry experience with building machine learning models with SSL (desirable); -
- Advanced oral and written English;
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficiency in Self-Supervised Learning, including experience with Contrastive Learning and/or Self-Distillation, as well as reconstruction and clustering-based methods. -
- Experience in designing and implementing deep learning models for representation extraction. -
- Advanced knowledge in probability, statistics, and experimental design. -
- Programming skills, especially proficiency in Python and PyTorch. -
- Ability to train models on large volumes of data, using distributed learning techniques and optimizing computational resources. -
- Experience with big data environments and distributed processing. -
- Experience in optimizing models for resource-constrained devices is desirable. -
- Academic publication and participation in machine learning and AI conferences.
