As Head of Software Development at Pixum, you will be responsible for our customer-facing web and Backend development, lead our four agile development teams along with their leads, shape a high-performing development organization, and ensure technological excellence, high delivery performance, and sustainable solutions.
Your impact: Further develop a scalable and sustainable e-commerce platform through which up to 1,5 million images are uploaded daily and around 3.000 requests per second are processed.
Your Responsibilities
- LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT: You will lead and develop our (lead) software developers both professionally and personally, identify talent, and strengthen them through regular feedback and targeted enablement.
- TECH STRATEGY & ARCHITECTURE: Together with our CTO Nina, you will develop a sustainable software and technology strategy in line with our corporate vision and CEWE Group compliance. Additionally, you will manage architecture and drive the systematic reduction of technical debt.
- QUALITY & GUIDANCE: You will establish binding quality standards, consistently align technical decisions with the requirements of our platform and the company, and set clear priorities within the corporate context.
- ORGANIZATION & PROCESSES: You will further develop structures, standards, and cross-team processes in technology, creating the foundation for agile, scalable, and future-oriented software development. In doing so, you will strengthen collaboration between teams, promote personal responsibility, and focus on shared and measurable results.
- COLLABORATION & TRANSPARENCY: You will strengthen cross-functional collaboration between software development, product management, agile POs, UX, marketing, and other teams (AI, app, etc.) and ensure transparency up to the division management, CEWE Group IT, and the board.
- COST & TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT: Together with Nina and many other stakeholders (including Head of PO, AI & App Team, Controlling), you will prepare strategic cost decisions and manage investments in development and AI tools, cloud services, and technologies - including make-or-buy decisions.
Your Profile
- You bring several years of leadership experience in tech teams, ideally in e-commerce or a comparable technological environment.
- You are a reliable, impact-oriented leader with experience in building high-performing teams and proven success in delivery performance, software quality, and development efficiency.
- You possess a deep understanding of system architectures as well as Java, microservices, cloud, and containers, and bring sound knowledge of architecture management, quality standards, and the structured handling of technical debt.
- You combine your strategic vision with the ability to develop a viable tech strategy for a scalable e-commerce platform and put it into practice.
- You communicate confidently in German and English. You are able to adapt your communication in a targeted manner to your respective stakeholders.
- You work with an agile and structured mindset and maintain an overview even during intense phases.
