About the opportunity

We are looking for a Mid-Level VMware Admin Analyst to work in the operation, administration, and support of virtualization environments, contributing directly to the stability, availability, and performance of the infrastructure.

The position will work closely with the Infrastructure, Storage, Backup, and Disaster Recovery teams, being responsible for monitoring the VMware environment and for resolving incidents, executing changes, and continuously improving operations.

Main responsibilities

  1. Administer and support VMware virtualization environments, including vCenter, ESXi, clusters, hosts, datastores, and virtual networks;
  1. Execute and support activities involving HA, DRS, vMotion, templates, and snapshots;
  1. Monitor capacity, performance, availability, and health of the virtualized environment;
  1. Act in the analysis and resolution of incidents and problems, performing troubleshooting and root cause identification;
  1. Execute patching, updating, and lifecycle activities for VMware environments;
  1. Analyze impacts and support the implementation of changes in the environment;
  1. Work in an integrated manner with Storage, Backup, Servers, and Disaster Recovery (DR) teams;
  1. Support activities related to high availability and environment continuity, including solutions like VMware SRM;
  1. Log incidents, changes, activities, and evidence using ITSM tools, such as ServiceNow;
  1. Keep technical documentation and CMDB updated;
  1. Act following Change Management processes, ITIL, and infrastructure operation best practices.

Technical requirements

  1. Higher Education or Technologist degree in IT-related areas;
  1. Experience with VMware/vSphere and operation of virtualized environments;
  1. Experience in corporate infrastructure and support environments;
  1. Experience with incident management, changes, and troubleshooting;
  1. VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi;
  1. VMware cluster administration;
  1. HA and DRS;
  1. vMotion;
  1. Datastores and Storage/SAN concepts;
  1. Virtual Networking;
  1. Templates and Snapshots;
  1. Backup solutions and processes;
  1. Monitoring of virtualized environments;
  1. Capacity Planning;
  1. Infrastructure troubleshooting;
  1. ITSM and tools like ServiceNow;
  1. High availability and Disaster Recovery concepts;
  1. Knowledge of VMware SRM will be considered a plus.
