What we offer
You can expect an interesting and responsible role within a dedicated team and a modern work environment, with a long-term perspective. From the very beginning, you will have the opportunity to help shape a project with real clinical impact and scientific connection via the University Hospital Tübingen, including potential for publication. You will receive clearly defined specifications, genuine responsibility, and a technical point of contact who is on your level.
In addition, you can expect flexible and structured working hours, performance-based compensation, as well as further benefits such as free drinks, sports offers like Wellpass, team events, and other attractive perks.
What we expect
- At least two years of relevant professional experience – we fully credit scientific work or student assistant positions with demonstrable technical output
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related STEM field – or a comparable, verifiable qualification
- Practical experience with LLM-based applications (e.g., RAG, agent workflows, structured output, evaluation) and solid Python skills
- Routine in AI-assisted coding (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) – and the judgment to critically evaluate generated code
- In-depth experience in at least one of these areas: UX/UI design, security architecture, on-premise deployment
- Experience in interdisciplinary teams and with complex projects; solid SQL skills
- Very good German language skills (written and spoken), as our applications, letters, and documentation are in German, as well as good English language skills
Plus points
- Experience with project management tools such as Wrike, Jira or similar, and agile working methods
- Experience with operating local language models on your own GPU hardware
- Experience in the healthcare sector and knowledge of GDPR, GenDG, MDR/IVDR, or the EU AI Act
- Interest in human genetics – you do not need prior knowledge; we will teach you the technical subject matter
Profile
Tasks
- You will develop AI applications for everyday clinical life – from specification and prototyping to productive operation
- You will integrate language models (LLMs) – operated locally or in the cloud
- You will build interfaces that function in everyday clinical life: fast, understandable, and fault-tolerant
- You will technically implement data protection and information security: pseudonymization, anonymization, role and rights concepts, and audit logging, and systematically verify compliance
- You will put our applications into operation on-premise (Linux, containers, GPU hardware) and operate them together with your team
- You will test and document in a way that every version is traceable and regulatorily robust
- You will work closely with physicians, bioinformatics, laboratory, and IT staff and translate clinical requirements into technical solutions
