Senior Systems Integration Engineer
Job Description
This position is for on-site work, in Juiz de Fora or Contagem, MG.
Who will you work with?
The Integration department is responsible for ensuring that the main stages of each project are completed with quality, on time, and aligned with our clients' requirements. The System Integration Engineer position plays an important role, alongside the Technical Project Manager, in system architecture definitions and project management, as well as interfacing with the testing team to ensure proper validation of PTC solution components.
How will you make a difference?
As a System Integration Engineer, you will have a strategic position encompassing the technical leadership of groups involved in the development, validation, and deployment of PTC Wabtec projects. The professional will be crucial in ensuring that the various products being developed are aligned with project requirements and are effective in their respective functions for the PTC system. The System Integration Engineer will also work closely with the integrated testing team, ensuring that the production environment is replicated within the laboratory structure Wabtec, enabling efficient product validation according to quality standards Wabtec.

Minimum requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
- Advanced communication skills in English (oral and written);
- Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, appropriate to the audience;
- Self-motivated, with proven ability to work independently and demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork skills;
- Ability to develop a high level of credibility and positive relationships with subordinates, colleagues, and managers;
- Experience in systems integration (dependencies, overlap, messaging, interfaces, among others);
- Knowledge in systems design and architecture;
- Technical writing skills;
- Knowledge in Software architecture;
- Knowledge in developing functional system requirements;
- Experience in QA and software validation processes;
- Critical analysis and complex problem-solving skills;
- Ability to guide cross-functional teams and promote collaboration between areas;
Desirable
- Familiarity with current railway industry rules and regulations;
- Familiarity with train control design practices;
- Knowledge in demand distribution and tracking of effort spent on tasks by team members;
- Track record with systems development.
- Work on design and quality activities to produce the PTC solution agreed upon with the client;
- Coordinate design and software submissions/distributions;
- Ensure that change management is properly communicated among different design, development, and quality teams;
- Conduct periodic design reviews;
- Work on creating requirements to guide development, testing, and commissioning teams;
- Ensure that all quality processes and steps have been completed;
- Manage integration testing and lead defect management and resolution;
- Monitor project success against quality goals, schedule, and client requirements, making necessary adjustments to meet expectations;
- Coordinate field tests;
- Be the technical and methodological reference within the Integration department;
- Promote continuous improvement through metrics analysis, bottleneck identification, and solution proposal;
- Directly support global teams in planning releases, integrations, and testing cycles;
- Share knowledge with the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
