Job Description

The manager is responsible for the detailed engineering and deployment of network, transport, and server equipment. They ensure the development of a plan to meet the business objectives of their sector and assume a decision-making role in complex technical situations that impact operations. The incumbent manages specialized professionals and resolves highly technical and complex problems.

Specifically, their main responsibilities are:

Ensure validation, production pilots, and transfer to design teams for projects involving the introduction of active equipment in the outside plant network;

Ensure the development, coordination, and optimization of deployment plans for access networks, transport, and server rooms;

Ensure the annual management of access network investments, taking into account traffic growth and equipment obsolescence;

Ensure the validation of annual infrastructure sizing models, capacity additions, and access network decongestion, and adjust them according to strategies and traffic evolution;

Ensure network integrity through the management of obsolescence, recovery plans, inventory, and the management of improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science with a specialization in telecommunications;

10 years of experience in telecommunications and the ability to demonstrate relevant skills related to detailed network engineering;

Minimum of 5 years of experience in personnel management;

Seasoned manager with inspiring leadership and recognized skills in communication and the mobilization of teams of specialized professionals, with a sense of urgency and priority management;

Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously in collaboration with different sectors and suppliers;

Analytical and synthesis skills to deal with ambiguity, make informed decisions, and explain complex technical problems in simple terms;

Proficiency in English (spoken and written) at an intermediate level; the employee will frequently communicate with English-speaking external partners and suppliers as well as English-speaking colleagues and employees located outside of Quebec. They will also have to follow training and read technical publications in English.
