This role is located full-time on a jobsite in Los Banos, CA and will require travel. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Able to perform all essential Entry Level/Intern Project Engineer

responsibilities

  1. Attend and document project meetings (write minutes)
  2. Set up and maintain electronic filing system
  3. Update and maintain all sets of drawings, specifications and logs
  4. Assist with preparation of CPM schedules
  5. Assist with updating and maintaining master CPM schedule
  6. Evaluate and understand basic construction means and methods
  7. Maintain a site-specific safety plan and pre-task planning process, including audits, meeting, training, etc.
  8. Distribute all documents to subcontractors and maintain document logs
  9. Evaluate field problems and document PCI’s
  10. Prepare and maintain PCI logs on CMiC system
  11. Review, analyze, and transmit submittals
  12. Prepare and maintain submittal logs and procurement logs
  13. Perform expediting functions
  14. Cost code and/or verify correct codes on time sheets
  15. Code Accounts Payable Workflows as assigned
  16. Verify original estimate quantities for labor cost reports
  17. Report quantities in place and maintain labor cost report
  18. Prepare and document extra work orders
  19. Review and assemble change order submittals and quantity surveys
  20. Maintain PCI log in CMiC system
  21. Set up and maintain a Quality Management system
  22. Maintain progress photo album
  23. Compile contracts close out documents (O&M manuals, as-builts, etc.)
  24. Maintain record set drawings
  25. Document punch list work
  26. Perform basic functions of Building Information Modeling and model administration
  27. Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements

  1. Minimum 1-3 years of work-related experience in design and/or construction of power substations
  2. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work with others in all situations.
  3. Ability to work, analyze, troubleshoot, and prioritize problems independently.
  4. Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
  5. Proficiency and knowledge of in office practices, procedures and equipment.
  6. Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and coordinate.
  7. Basic estimating and scheduling skills.
  8. P6 scheduling experience a plus.
  9. Construction related internship experience preferred.
  10. Field experience a plus.
  11. Basic understanding of construction cost accounting
  12. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  13. Ability to read and understand plans and specifications
  14. Effective organizational skills
  15. Effective written and verbal English language communication skills
  16. Ability to use independent judgment, self-starting
  17. Drafting and advanced computer skills a plus
  18. Knowledge of virtual construction technology systems preferred

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

  1. Requires frequent stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 20 or more lbs.
  2. Constant finger dexterity and ability to see details at close rangeand at a distance, hear, talk, and possess depth perception.
  3. Occasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high exposed places.
  4. Occasional exposure to environmental conditions

$74,124.00 - $92,655.00
