Junior Implementation and Integration Support
About the opportunity
Provides critical on-site support and technical assistance during the cutover of the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) System to live operations. Ensuring a seamless transition for both Air Traffic and Technical Operations is vital to maintaining safety, operational efficiency, and system continuity. The on-site team will work closely with operational personnel to mitigate risks associated with the system switch-over and provide immediate troubleshooting support to address any unforeseen issues that may arise. This includes supporting the resolution of any new Airport Information Management System (AIMS) issues and tracking them to prevent operational delays. Additionally, the team will assist Technical Operations' Air Traffic Systems Specialists (ATSS) with hands-on training to enhance their understanding of TFDM maintenance and operation, equipping them with the skills needed for ongoing system sustainment. The TSLE team will perform troubleshooting, equipment replacements as necessary, and facilitate knowledge transfer to ensure operational readiness and system stability. Their presence is critical to proactively addressing potential issues, ensuring a smooth transition, and promoting system stability during this crucial initial phase. This travel is necessary to uphold safety standards, minimize NAS disruptions, and maintain the technical integrity of the TFDM system during its launch.
Initial validation of TFDM subsystems integration. All hardware boxes (processors and network equipment) are verified for appropriate firmware versions down to Least Replaceable Unit (LRU) level. Upgrades performed, as necessary. Overall system performance between Operating System, Software Applications, Adaptation, and interactions with available external (live or networked) interfaces are examined. Spares availabilities are confirmed. Identification of incorrect component firmware, driver or hardware failures is critical for the completion of subsequent Integration Shakedown Phase 2 and accomplishment of Initial Operating Capability (IOC).
This role is onsite in Pomona, NJ and requires 75% travel to other FAA facilities.
