About the opportunity
Your challenge on the team
You will work on the Billing team, the "financial heart of RD," responsible for the complete "quote to cash" flow. The challenge is to scale the system securely, evolving a product that started as internal to meet the company's growing demands, while maintaining financial and fiscal rigor. Additionally, the team is aligning the front-end with RD's engineering, requiring an end-to-end vision and mastery in React/JavaScript on the front and Ruby/database on the back.
Your main deliverables
- Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services, ensuring quality and stability.
- Implement automated tests (unit, mocked, end-to-end) to ensure system robustness.
- Evolve and maintain the system architecture with best practices, modularity, and clear documentation.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of production systems using tools like Datadog and Rollbar.
- Share knowledge and technically influence the team, collaborating with product and engineering teams.
Minimum requirements
Profile we are looking for
- Consolidated experience in backend development with Ruby on Rails.
- Deep knowledge of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
- Solid experience with automated testing and software architecture (Clean Architecture, SOLID, Design Patterns).
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Sidekiq for orchestration and asynchronous processing.
- Communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills, with a focus on continuous learning.
It will be considered a differential
- Experience with messaging queues (RabbitMQ) and Redis for caching and optimization.
- Experience in high-availability environments and scalability strategies.
- Contributions to the technical community (articles, talks, open source, mentoring).
- Previous experience in Billing teams or related areas.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React, Vue.js, and JavaScript.
