Introduction

At Optimax Energy, we have been developing smart solutions for automated trading systems for over 10 years and are driving the transition to green energy. This makes us a leader in international electricity trading.

Our culturally diverse team shares a common vision and fosters a culture of appreciation and equal opportunity. We believe that we can achieve extraordinary things when we are free to develop. Therefore, we place great value on a healthy work-life balance and encourage creative freedom.

We embrace diversity, equality, and inclusion. Different perspectives and backgrounds strengthen our team and lead to creative solutions. To this end, we create an appreciative work environment that recognizes the uniqueness of all employees and retains talent in the long term.

To actively shape the future of the energy industry, we are looking for outstanding, committed individuals who share our vision and corporate culture. As an official practical partner of HTWK Leipzig, we give you real insight into our work during your studies – with the goal of winning you over as a long-term member of our team.

Your Tasks

The Master's program in Information and Communication Technology at HTWK Leipzig closely combines theory and practice. In the first two semesters, you will attend block courses at the university twice per semester for three weeks each. About three-quarters of all courses take place there. During the remaining time, you will work with us, focusing on software development, and complete exercises through self-study via the university's e-learning system. Your team will be based in either Backend or Fullstack, and you can also gain insights into the work of other teams. In the third semester, you will write your Master's thesis, ideally on a topic from our daily work. We will provide close supervision, and the university will support you online.

All details regarding the degree program (structure, modules, admission) can be found directly at HTWK Leipzig: Information and Communication Technology – Master (HTWK Leipzig)

With us, you will become part of a permanent team and have a dedicated contact person who will support you professionally and personally throughout your entire study period, even during your theory phases at HTWK. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to look into the work of other teams.

Your Responsibility

You will start directly with your own tasks and quickly take on responsibility. A few examples:

  1. Further development and operation of our software solutions for energy trading
  1. Conception and implementation of integrations between our systems and interfaces (APIs)
  1. Independent implementation of features, from technical conception to productive deployment
  1. Collaboration on data processing, monitoring, and operation of productive systems
  1. Close professional exchange with experienced developers, e.g., in code reviews and pairing
  1. A personal project tailored to your interests and strengths, ideally as a basis for your Master's thesis
