Location: This is a US-based remote position, with candidates in the Tampa Bay area preferred.

  1. Tampa-based employees may have the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid schedule in the future, requiring periodic onsite presence at our Tampa, FL location.

Employment Type: Part Time (Night Shift 10pm - 6am ET)

  1. Overnight shift requiring availability for the full shift and timely incident response

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Security Clearance: minimum T3 required

  1. Associate's or bachelor's degree in IT or a related field, OR a current Microsoft certification
  1. 2+ years of Windows Server and application administration or IT operations support
  1. Experience with incident response, patching, and troubleshooting in a production environment
  1. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and basic SQL
  1. Ability to work a fixed overnight schedule (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM ET)

CERTIFICATIONS AND CLEARANCE

  1. CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent DoD 8140 baseline certification) required at hire
  1. Microsoft Windows Server certification required; must be obtained within 6 months of hire if not already held
  1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Tier 3 or Tier 5 background investigation and a Common Access Card (CAC); active investigation a plus
  1. Completion of required DoD security awareness training within 30 days of start

Job Summary

Lucayan Technology Solutions LLC is seeking a Junior Windows Application Administrator to provide overnight support for enterprise applications on a federal government IT program. You will monitor business-critical applications, respond to and resolve incidents, and restore service quickly when issues occur. This is a great opportunity to build hands-on experience in a DoD cloud and cybersecurity environment alongside a senior technical team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitor enterprise applications, a public-facing website, and database alerts throughout the overnight shift (10pm - 6am ET)
  1. Respond to incidents promptly, notify stakeholders, and restore service within defined timelines
  1. Troubleshoot, patch, and maintain Windows-hosted applications during scheduled maintenance windows
  1. Apply security patches and STIG configurations and help remediate vulnerability scan findings
  1. Provide first-line support for Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases and escalate as needed
  1. Track incidents and outages in ServiceNow and help prepare after-action reports
  1. Document overnight procedures and hand off open issues to the day team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Experience in a DoD or federal IT environment (STIG, IAVM, ACAS)
  1. Exposure to Oracle Database, Apache/Tomcat, Splunk, or MOVEit
  1. Experience with ServiceNow or another ITIL-based ticketing system
  1. Cloud platform experience (OCI, Azure, or AWS)
