The Mission and the Role

The Lateration mission: Our technologies help police and armed forces make better decisions under pressure and act more effectively in complex situations. Lateration develops next-generation systems that combine field sensors, secure communication, and intelligent data processing.

Your mission: You ensure that our IT functions in everyday life. You are the first point of contact for all IT questions at the location, receive requests and incidents, resolve them quickly, and keep devices, access, and systems running. This allows our team to focus on development. As part of a startup, you also enjoy helping out with tasks outside of IT and support 2nd-level topics as needed.

About us

We are an interdisciplinary team that develops innovative hardware and software solutions for police and military forces. Our systems are designed for demanding operational scenarios and function reliably even where classic technologies reach their limits.

From the idea to the prototype to real-world use, we work pragmatically, hands-on, and with the highest quality standards. What others consider science fiction, we are implementing today. If you want to work on technological challenges with real impact, you have come to the right place.

Your Responsibilities

  1. 1st-level support: You receive IT requests via ticket, chat, phone, or directly at the desk, resolve them yourself, or pass them on with clean documentation.
  1. Workstations & hardware: You set up laptops, monitors, smartphones, and peripherals, manage them, and take care of repairs and replacements.
  1. Onboarding & offboarding: You create user accounts, assign permissions and licenses, provide devices, and ensure clean return and blocking upon departure.
  1. User & rights management: You maintain accounts, groups, and access rights and support with password, MFA, and access topics.
  1. Software & updates: You install and update software, roll out patches, and keep the software status of devices current.
  1. On-site network & infrastructure: You support WLAN, network, printers, meeting rooms, and telephony and resolve simple incidents yourself.
  1. Inventory & documentation: You maintain the hardware and license inventory and document solutions, processes, and instructions for the team.
  1. Information security in everyday life: You ensure compliance with our IT security policies and support topics such as device encryption, access control, and secure handling of data.
  1. Perspective 2nd level: With growing experience, you will take on more complex tasks, such as in the administration of our Linux servers and Proxmox virtualization, in the network, or in IT projects.

Who We Are Looking For

  1. Education: A completed vocational training as an IT specialist for system integration, a degree with an IT focus, or a comparable qualification.
  1. Initial experience: Initial practical experience in IT support or system administration, also welcome from training, student jobs, or internships.
  1. Technical foundations: Good knowledge of Linux administration, experience with Proxmox VE, basic knowledge of Windows, as well as basic knowledge of networks (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WLAN) and user management.
  1. Service orientation: You explain technical things in an understandable way, remain friendly even with many requests, and keep an overview.
  1. Diligence & structure: You work reliably, document cleanly, and handle sensitive data responsibly.
  1. Willingness to learn: You want to develop further and take on more responsibility in the 2nd level step by step.
  1. Language: Very good German and good English, both written and spoken.
  1. Security clearance: Due to our field of activity, you must meet the requirements for a German security clearance (SÜ2/Ü2). As a rule, this requires German citizenship or long-term residence in EU or NATO countries.

Why Us?

  • A mission with real impact: Your work ensures that our team can develop the systems that protect police and military forces in the field.
  • Exciting technical environment: You will get to know an IT environment with high security requirements.
  • Strong team & collaboration: Short paths, close cooperation, and a team that values reliability more than politics.
  • Flexible & supportive environment: Flexible working hours and a strong team culture.
