KNDS Deutschland Mission Electronics GmbH is an IT system house in the security and defense sector. As a subsidiary of KNDS Deutschland GmbH & Co KG, the electronics specialist from Lake Constance has been developing complex and hardened IT systems in hardware and software in close cooperation with customers for over four decades. The System Engineering department is involved in the development of solutions for military communication, for hardened hardware platforms, and for monitoring and testing systems. We think in terms of system interdependencies and support our customers throughout the entire lifecycle, from idea generation and requirements analysis through realization and commissioning/fielding to maintenance and servicing. Our focus is on software development, where we work on a wide range of topics from firmware and driver development, through middleware and application development, to user interface design. We work together in cross-functional project teams and place great importance on good communication and honest feedback.

WHAT TO EXPECT
- Independent processing of design, implementation, and documentation of complex software in the areas of military communication, hardened hardware platforms, or monitoring and testing systems
- Conducting requirements analyses and participating in system conception and requirements engineering
- Creation of architectures, design of APIs and the creation of documentation for it
- Creation of test concepts for formal acceptance and other tests, as well as the creation of documentation for it
- Participation in the creation of concepts and execution of effort estimations within the scope of acquisition projects
- Analysis and optimization of the existing code base, e.g., identification of bottlenecks and improvement of system performance
WHAT YOU BRING
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Technical Computer Science, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable
- Several years of professional experience in software development in a regulated environment
- In-depth knowledge of software development in Python, C++, or C#
- Sound knowledge of model-based development approaches and modern software architectures
- Good knowledge of tool-based requirements engineering
- Confident use of collaboration platforms, version control, and development environments
- Willingness to introduce new technologies and best practices and to further develop them within the team
- Willingness for occasional business trips
- Very good German and good English skills
- Independent and systematic way of working, quality awareness, creativity, and teamwork skills
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is an advantage: Development of systems with requirements for functional safety and IT security, Linux, communication protocols, CI/CD
