Senior QA Engineer passionate about software quality.
This role requires analytical skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, a genuine commitment to delivering a high-quality product, and the motivation to lead a team of two other QAs.
Main tasks
- Review and analyze business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.
- Identify risks, gaps, inconsistencies, and potential quality issues early in the development cycle.
- Create, design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Ensure product requirements are fully understood, validated, and tested before delivery.
- Support and mentor junior QAs, sharing knowledge and promoting best QA practices.
- Guide and collaborate with the automation engineer, helping to identify automation opportunities, reviewing test coverage, and ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, and methodologies.
- Champion a quality-first mindset throughout the product.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a QA Engineer in a Senior role, preferably with prior experience leading a QA team.
- Solid hands-on experience with functional/manual testing.
- Experience in creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Solid knowledge of software development lifecycles.
- Clear communication, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in AI: all team members are expected to demonstrate strong analytical capabilities and make intelligent use of AI tools whenever possible to work more efficiently and generate results in their roles.
- Fluent English (B2 or higher).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Jira/Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Experience working with test automation teams.
- Familiarity with CI/CD environments and quality best practices.
- Experience with API testing.
Location: Lisbon
Work arrangement: Hybrid (1x per week in the office - Marquês de Pombal).
