Your Responsibilities

As part of our Technology Strategy team specializing in the financial services sector in Munich, Frankfurt/Main, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Cologne, or Berlin, you will advise our clients on data and AI transformations. In this role, you will take on the following tasks:

You will design and implement AI-enabled lakehouse architectures using Delta Lake and the medallion pattern, develop data models with metadata and semantic layers, and establish data mesh and data products. Additionally, you will build ingestion and transformation processes, such as with Auto Loader or Delta Live Tables, including data quality checks and SLAs.

You will develop end-to-end data pipelines on Databricks and comparable platforms, preferably in Azure, and use PySpark and SQL for batch and streaming processing. Using CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment strategies, you will establish DataOps for scalable data platforms.

You will integrate upstream and downstream systems such as Kafka/Confluent, Event Hubs, REST-APIs, ADLS/S3, as well as BI tools like Power BI and Databricks SQL warehouses. Furthermore, you will orchestrate and monitor workflows, for example with Databricks Workflows, Airflow, or Azure Data Factory, and implement FinOps for cloud data platforms.

You will define and configure data governance functions such as catalogs, schemas, permissions, data lineage, auditing, and row- and column-level access controls. In doing so, you will implement security, privacy, and compliance by design in accordance with GDPR and BaFin requirements, as well as SSO/SCIM, secret scopes, network isolation, Private Link, and encryption.

You will collaborate with architects, analysts, and product owners, document designs, share best practices, and mentor junior engineers. Additionally, you will contribute to proposals and accelerators and support operational handovers as well as incident resolution.

Your Skillset

You have completed a degree in (business) informatics, (business) mathematics, physics, statistics, engineering, or a technological-analytical field and have more than three years of experience in data engineering on cloud platforms.

You understand data governance and data security in regulated environments and combine consulting, (software) engineering, and technology strategy expertise to translate business goals into scalable, future-proof architectures for modern data and cloud platforms.

You have excellent communication skills in German (at least C1 level) and English.
