Embedded Software Engineer

Join a highly successful software development team in Lincoln, Nebraska. We are responsible for application and embedded software development for the EFJohnson radio product line. We are a software engineering team of ~50 members and offer a relaxed work environment where you will be surrounded by amazing talent. EFJohnson provides wireless communications products and systems for public safety, commercial, and government customers. We design, manufacture, and market conventional and trunked radio systems, land mobile radio repeaters urgentcomm.com/technology/tower-site/repeaters?intlink=autlink, and mobile and portable radios, including Project 25 urgentcomm.com/technology/land-mobile-radio/p25?intlink=autlink digital radio products.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain embedded software for EFJohnson’s subscriber and infrastructure product lines. There are both embedded linux and DSP development opportunities.
  1. Develop requirements and protocol documents for new and existing products.
  1. Provide technical support on subscriber products to solve design and field issues.
  1. Identify and correct defects in existing products.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  1. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player.
  1. Must be a self-starter with excellent problem solving skills.

Travel Requirements

  1. Up to 20%

What We’re Looking For

  1. Experience with C/C++ is preferred
  1. Embedded software development experience a plus
  1. Intermediate level of knowledge of development tools, test equipment, and documentation procedures is desired.
