About the opportunity
To support our team in Ingelheim, we are looking for a SharePoint Administrator / Windows Systems Engineer – Collaboration & Infrastructure (all genders) to take over the operation, further development, and modernization of our clients' SharePoint environments. In this role, you will manage existing SharePoint farms, support migrations and new setups, and simultaneously contribute to the operation of classic Windows server environments.
You will work in client environments of various sizes and complexities, analyze existing platforms, ensure stable and secure operation, and support projects related to SharePoint, Windows servers, Active Directory, Microsoft infrastructure, and managed services.
Responsibilities
- Operation, administration, and further development of existing SharePoint farms in client environments
- Monitoring, maintenance, and error analysis of SharePoint environments, including services, databases, web applications, site collections, and permission structures
- Planning, setup, and configuration of new SharePoint farms, considering availability, security, scalability, and operability
- Execution and support of SharePoint migrations, modernizations, and version upgrades
- Analysis of existing collaboration and Windows infrastructures, as well as identification of optimization, modernization, and automation potentials
- Support in the operation of Windows server environments, Active Directory, group policies, DNS, and other Microsoft infrastructure components
- Gathering functional and technical requirements, translating them into actionable solution concepts, and supporting the technical implementation
- Error analysis and troubleshooting for disruptions in the SharePoint and Windows server environment
- Creation and maintenance of operational documentation, standards, installation specifications, and best practices
- Support in client projects, migrations, and managed services scenarios within the Microsoft infrastructure environment
Skills
- You have completed vocational training, a degree in IT, or a comparable qualification – your practical experience is more important to us.
- You have sound experience in the administration and operation of SharePoint farms.
- You are familiar with SharePoint On-Premises and ideally have already set up, expanded, or migrated new farms.
- You have experience operating Windows server environments and possess a good understanding of Active Directory, DNS, group policies, and Microsoft infrastructures.
- You can gather, structure, and clearly explain technical requirements – both to technical teams and client contacts.
- You work independently, are solution-oriented, and maintain an overview even in complex client environments.
- You have a good understanding of stable, secure, and operable IT solutions.
- You are willing to contribute to the general operation of Windows and Microsoft infrastructures beyond SharePoint.
Nice to have
- Experience in a system house, MSP, or IT service provider environment.
- Experience with SharePoint migrations, version upgrades, or major modernization projects.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, or hybrid collaboration scenarios.
- Experience with PowerShell, automation, or standardization of operational tasks.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, load balancing, backup/restore, or monitoring of SharePoint environments.
- Experience with managed services, operational models, or recurring client solutions.
