Job Description

Responsible for maintaining test equipment functional and providing support in the electronics area.

Responsibilities

  1. Establish, implement, and maintain test methods, equipment, and systems for products within the area of responsibility.
  1. Research and develop new methods, design equipment and systems, to improve test procedures.
  1. Utilize quality and department reports to measure test equipment performance and implement improvements.
  1. Provide manufacturing cells with precise written test procedures and maintenance routines, spare parts lists for use in manufacturing documents.
  1. Contribute to the record of actions for test equipment and department projects for performance improvement purposes.
  1. Provide technical assistance, services, and support to product lines for manufacturing processes.
  1. Document projects according to active guidelines and implemented formats.
  1. Implement necessary actions to achieve or exceed cost reduction goals within the area of responsibility.
  1. Function as a responsible team member with product engineers, quality, and manufacturing personnel to maintain a high degree of quality and productivity.
  1. Assist and support in the development and training program for manufacturing personnel on product operation and testing.
  1. Comply with applicable company safety policies, regulations, and procedures.

Authority

  1. Responsible for supporting and coordinating actions of test technicians and Jr. engineers.
  1. May define test policies, standards, and methodologies for the entire area.
  1. Authority to manage resources: assign personnel, approve time, and prioritize projects.
  1. Ability to approve investments in test equipment or justify budgets to the management area.
  1. Authority to approve test plans and final validation results for product release.

Basic Requirements

  1. Engineer, preferably in Electromechanical, Mechatronics, and/or Electronics.
  1. Corrective and preventive maintenance of test equipment.
  1. Availability for flexible hours to support weekends.
  1. Availability to support different shifts.
  1. Experience as an engineer (minimum 5 years) in the manufacturing industry for assembly of electronic board products.
  1. Programming CVI, Lab View, VB, C++, PLC
  1. Ability to solve problems using analytical methods.
  1. Bilingual English-Spanish (80%).
  1. Experience in handling and programming automatic inspection equipment (AOI, Vision Systems for TH.).
  1. Experience in handling and programming ICT equipment, Functional Tests.

Desirable Requirements

  1. Experience in test equipment integration.
  1. Knowledge of communication protocols, RS232, I2C, TTL.
  1. Visa to travel to the US.
  1. Knowledge of statistical methods for analysis and improvement of test equipment performance.
  1. Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing.
