As a Senior SAP MES Integration Engineer Process Industry
you are a central interface between production, processes, machines, and IT. You ensure that our digital production landscape runs stably, continuously evolves, and creates real added value for our company.
- Conception, development, optimization, and operation of MES applications in a production-related environment (Shopfloor IT, Frontend & Backend)
- Integration of machines and plants (e.g., PLC, OPC UA, PLS) into the MES and SAP system landscape
- Creation, optimization, and analysis of SQL queries and database-based evaluations (MS SQL Server)
- Close collaboration with production, engineering, and IT to implement technical requirements from standard solutions to individual custom solutions
- Analysis and resolution of faults in the production-related IT/OT environment (2nd & 3rd Level Support)
- Participation in projects for the introduction and further development of MES and IT systems as well as databases (e.g., SAP Digital Manufacturing)
- Ensuring stable, performant integration between shopfloor and business IT
- Documentation of solutions and continuous improvement of the existing system landscape
Minimum requirements

- Completed apprenticeship or degree in Computer Science, Automation Technology, Production Technology, or equivalent
- Several years of experience in the MES environment or in production-related IT/OT integration
- Very good knowledge in:
- Shopfloor integration and the connection of production plants (e.g., OPC UA, REST, MQTT)
- Optimization of complex SQL queries (e.g., MS SQL Server)
- Understanding of production processes, ideally in the process industry; experience in the food industry is an advantage, but not a requirement
- Hands-on mentality and enjoyment of direct work with systems, machines, and data
- Smart Factory, automation technology, and shopfloor are not foreign words to you
- Analytical thinking, structured approach, and solution-oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills in German and English
- ideally SAP MII / SAP Digital Manufacturing or comparable MES systems
