About the opportunity
We are looking for an SAP OpenText VIM Consultant to support the design, configuration, enhancement, integration, and continuous optimization of a global Vendor Invoice Management solution.
The consultant will work closely with Accounts Payable, Procurement, SAP (functional and technical), integration teams, and business stakeholders to improve invoice processing automation and resolve complex VIM issues.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in OpenText VIM integrated with SAP S/4HANA, OpenText Core Capture, as well as solid knowledge of Accounts Payable invoice processing, workflows, exception management, integrations, upgrades, and production support.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Act as a functional and technical expert in OpenText VIM for SAP invoice management processes.
- Configure, enhance, troubleshoot, and optimize OpenText VIM and related invoice processing features.
- Analyze complex Accounts Payable and invoice processing requirements and translate them into scalable VIM solutions.
- Support OpenText Core Capture and associated invoice capture and recognition processes.
- Design and optimize invoice workflows, approval routing, exception handling, duplicate checks and validation, indexing, automated posting scenarios, and business rules.
- Assist in the evaluation of complex VIM production incidents and recurring issues using structured root cause analysis.
- Perform high-level review of current OpenText VIM architecture and functions, as well as related interfaces such as Ariba, Fieldglass, etc.
- Review existing configurations and recommend improvements in automation, reliability, maintenance, controls, and processing efficiency.
- Work with cross-functional and technical teams on integration with S/4HANA, custom developments, and VIM-related interfaces.
- Review interfaces between VIM and associated corporate platforms, including SAP Ariba and SAP Fieldglass, where applicable.
- Assist with upgrades, patches, and all related functional activities, coordinating with the Basis team and other technical teams.
- Develop functional specifications and provide guidance to ABAP, Fiori, and integration developers for enhancements.
- Support unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, deployment, and post-production validation.
- Take responsibility for transports, configuration changes, cutover activities, deployment, and post-production support.
- Develop and maintain solution documentation, configuration logs, test scenarios, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
- Collaborate effectively with business users and technical teams across various regions and time zones.
- Ensure compliance with internal IT governance and external regulatory requirements.
- Provide consulting on change management, training, and documentation for business users.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience with OpenText VIM, including implementation and upgrades.
- Solid hands-on configuration experience with OpenText VIM integrated into the SAP S/4HANA product suite.
- Solid knowledge of OpenText Core Capture.
- Deep knowledge of SAP Accounts Payable, invoice processing with and without purchase orders, invoice workflows, exception handling, validation, and approval processes.
- Experience in configuring different global profiles, such as the US, Canada, Brazil, India, China, and other Latin American countries.
- Functional knowledge of SAP FI/AP and experience working with Finance and Accounts Payable teams.
- Experience with SAP Ariba and/or SAP Fieldglass integrations.
- Experience in translating business requirements into VIM functional designs, configuration decisions, and detailed specifications for developers, when necessary.
- Experience in leading testing, defect resolution, deployment, cutover, and production stabilization.
- Proficiency in agile methodology and work tools such as Jira, Copilot, ServiceNow, etc.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
