Job Description
For BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH, we are looking for you as an OT Network / Security Administrator at our Berlin location in a permanent position, to start as soon as possible.
Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of all components of an OT operational network, including all associated services, as well as complete documentation, monitoring, and maintenance of the components for multiple locations in Berlin.
- You contribute to the OT security strategy to develop mechanisms for early threat detection and to continuously implement preventive measures against threats.
- You work on the continuous optimization to increase the security and efficiency of the OT/IT systems used in the OT operational network.
- You support IT/OT digitalization projects within the company from a security perspective.
Qualifications
Your Profile
- You have a completed degree in IT or a similar field ("Required").
- You have experience in the integration and configuration of routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as their design and operation.
- You possess initial operational experience in the following areas: attack detection systems (SIEM, IDS, vulnerability scanners), remote access, and data diodes in an OT environment.
- You work in a small team, which is why interdisciplinary skills are required, or the willingness to acquire them for operations is necessary.
- You enjoy developing new solutions and optimizing complex OT landscapes.
- You are characterized by a strong solution-oriented mindset.
- You have knowledge in the area of KRITIS requirements and standards (IEC 62443, 27001, and 27019) for energy producers.
- You have German language skills at at least the C1 level ("Required").
- You are willing to work on-site ("Required").
- Ideally, you have practical experience with Ethernet / Layer 2 / Layer 3 services and are well-versed in the operation of a modern carrier network and common routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MEF).
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., PROFINET, Modbus, OPC UA) is an advantage.
