Job Description
- You will develop and optimize our COBOL applications in the IBM mainframe environment within the property insurance division.
- You will ensure the stable and reliable operation of the applications you manage.
- In close cooperation with our business departments, you will analyze requirements, develop tailored solutions, and support their implementation from conception to successful testing.
- You will manage and coordinate the connection of interfaces to Java-based systems.
- You will support the gradual modernization of our application landscape and actively participate in replacing legacy systems, preparing for future migrations, and shaping our target architecture.
Qualifications
- With curiosity, analytical thinking, and a strong spirit of inquiry, you enjoy familiarizing yourself with existing applications and complex contexts to develop sustainable solutions.
- You enjoy exchanging ideas with business departments and can communicate technical matters in an understandable and audience-appropriate manner.
- You enjoy working independently and actively contributing to the team.
- You have practical experience in COBOL development, feel at home in complex application landscapes, and hold a completed IT education, a university degree, or a comparable qualification.
- Very good German language skills (at least C1 level) round off your profile.
- Ideally, you are familiar with the IBM mainframe environment and have already worked with technologies and tools such as DB2, TSO, ISPF, SDSF, or UC4. Alternatively, you bring the technical affinity and curiosity to quickly familiarize yourself with new tools and technologies.
