Summary

An Augeo DevOps Engineer will support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Augeo's CI/CD pipelines, container infrastructure, cloud environments, and DevSecOps practices across the engineering organization. This role touches three distinct technology ecosystems: the AWE platform (TypeScript/React/Node.js/AWS), the Encore platform (.NET/C#/SQL Server), and our ColdFusion platforms (Lucee/ColdBox/MySQL) — each with unique build, deployment, and infrastructure requirements. You'll help execute Augeo's DevOps and DevSecOps roadmap, contributing to automation at every stage of the software delivery lifecycle while helping embed security into pipelines and infrastructure.

You'll work alongside the team to apply AI-powered operations tools and agentic AI assistants to automate infrastructure provisioning, security scanning, incident response, and deployment workflows, and collaborate with engineers across all three platforms on DevOps best practices.

High-level Job Requirements

  1. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions across the AWE, Encore, and ColdFusion platforms, ensuring fast, reliable, and repeatable builds, tests, and deployments
  1. Help define and follow pipeline-as-code standards, managing GitHub Actions workflows in version control with proper branching, approval gates, and environment promotion strategies
  1. Automate build, test, and deployment processes, reducing manual intervention and time-to-production across platforms
  1. Support containerized application deployments using Podman and Amazon ECS, including image builds, registry management, task definitions, service configurations, and auto-scaling policies
  1. Assist in provisioning and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudFront, Route 53) using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  1. Write and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation tooling for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment automation, and operational tasks across Windows and Linux environments
  1. Support automated security compliance checks and vulnerability remediation workflows, helping maintain continuous compliance with SOC 2 Type II, and supporting PCI-DSS and other regulatory requirements as needed
  1. Participate in security audits of infrastructure, pipelines, and deployment configurations, helping identify and remediate vulnerabilities before they reach production
  1. Use AI-powered operations tools (AIOps) and agentic AI assistants to support infrastructure monitoring, anomaly detection, incident triage, capacity planning, and automated remediation workflows
  1. Help build and deploy AI agents to accelerate DevOps workflows — automating security scanning, deployment validations, log analysis, runbook execution, and infrastructure drift detection
  1. Participate in incident response and production reliability practices, including on-call rotation and post-incident reviews
  1. Embrace Augeo's CORE values — Collaborative, Objective, Responsive and Earnest in all areas

Desired Technical Skills

  1. 2–4 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or site reliability engineering
  1. Familiarity with GitHub Actions, including workflow design, environment secrets, and integration with AWS deployment targets
  1. Exposure to Podman for container image builds and management, including rootless containers and Podman Compose for local development environments
  1. Familiarity with Amazon ECS (Fargate and/or EC2 launch types), including task definitions, service configurations, and integration with ECR and CloudWatch
  1. Some experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar)
  1. Exposure to DevSecOps practices such as SAST (SonarQube, Checkmarx, or similar), DAST (OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, or similar), SCA (Snyk, Dependabot, or similar), or container image scanning (Trivy, Grype, or similar)
  1. Familiarity with secrets management solutions (AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault, or similar)
  1. Exposure to observability and monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack, New Relic, or similar)
  1. Willingness to learn the deployment and infrastructure needs of .NET/C# applications, Node.js/TypeScript applications, and ColdFusion/Lucee (CommandBox) applications
  1. Interest in AI agent development for automated incident response, runbook execution, and infrastructure self-healing workflows
  1. Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (VPC design, security groups, NACLs, DNS, CDN, load balancing) in AWS
  1. Prior mentorship or team-lead experience is a plus but not required
  1. Relevant certifications are a plus (AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, CompTIA Security+, or similar)

Education and Experience

  1. Four-year college degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred (or equivalent relevant experience)
  1. 2–4 years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or site reliability engineering
