About the team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team ensures that our equipment and facilities function optimally at all times. We are a team of technicians and engineers consisting of excellent team players led by experienced managers. We work together to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. Some of our staff are leaders who oversee the team while working on exciting, innovative technology—some of which is only available at Amazon. From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing general site maintenance and repairing equipment essential for distribution, our team handles a large portion of the technical tasks at Amazon. Among other things, it also ensures that buildings remain compliant with legal requirements so that everyone stays safe and our sites operate with maximum efficiency. There are numerous advancement opportunities within the RME team itself as well as throughout the entire Amazon company. All our activities are aimed at reducing downtime at Amazon's most important operational sites so that customers receive their orders on time. We often work early mornings, late evenings, or night shifts to perform maintenance with the least possible disruption. If we find a better way to perform a specific task, we have the skills and opportunities to introduce entirely new processes or groundbreaking technology such as Amazon Robotics or our Complex Item Sorter.
