SOCOTEC Engineering is currently seeking a Senior Engineer with more than 5 years’ experience in laboratory testing for our Forensics Group based at the laboratory facility in Brooklyn, New York. This position requires working with our team to conduct materials and mechanical testing, field monitoring, and non-destructive evaluations of structures. Candidates with less experience, but exceptional background is encouraged to apply.

The candidate will be responsible for

Coordinating, planning, and conducting standard and custom mechanical and material testing in the laboratory, including tensile, Charpy V-notch, leak/pressure, long-term durability testing, and others Leading and completing field testing and monitoring including installation of sensors, deploying data acquisition systems, data collection and analysis Preparation of written reports of tests including analysis of data and interpretation of results Conducting field and site inspections Managing projects, pursuing new business opportunities, and communicating effectively with colleagues, technical and administrative staff, clients and other stakeholders Completing all duties as assigned by their manager
